Optometrist
Dr. Mallory Morris Collins is a lifelong resident of Clarksdale, MS. She graduated from high school in 2011 from Lee Academy as valedictorian of her class. After receiving a degree in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University in 2014 where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Collins attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She graduated in the top 10% of her class, Summa Cum Laude, with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2019. She completed rotations in Memphis and the surrounding area where she received extensive training in primary eye care, dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, pediatrics, and co-management of cataract, refractive, and glaucoma surgeries.
As a Clarksdale native, Dr. Collins wanted to return to her hometown to provide the best possible eye care to a community she cares about deeply. She is a member of the Mississippi Optometric Association and serves as the Grassroots Committee Chairman. She was honored as the recipient of the Helen St. Clair Young Optometrist of the Year award in 2022 after being named as a finalist in 2021. Dr. Collins enjoys volunteering in the community as a member of Junior Auxiliary, Rotary Club, Lions Club, and Kiwanis Club. In her spare time, she loves to travel, cook, and spend time with her family and pets.
Dr. Collins practices full scope optometry for patients of all ages and maintains a certification in Primary Eyecare Procedures, which includes removing lesions from around the eyes and performing YAG laser posterior capsulotomies. She is dedicated to continuing her education concerning the latest advances in eye health and vision care. To further her knowledge, she regularly attends continuing education seminars as well as advanced training courses. In addition to primary eyecare, Dr. Collins specializes in the treatment and management of numerous conditions affecting the eye including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, age-related macular degeneration, and ocular infections and injuries. She is the only provider in the area who fits scleral lenses for keratoconus, post-refractive surgery, and other progressive corneal diseases, thereby providing significantly improved vision that cannot be achieved with glasses. Dr. Collins’ future is in her hometown, and she looks forward to providing exceptional eye health and vision care to the people of her community and the surrounding areas.
